Five Holistic must-haves I’ll never travel without

Almost every person I’ve travelled with comments on the items I pull out of my suitcase.

I mean, I get it—why would anyone pack a bag of crystals and go through all the trouble of boarding a plane with the added weight? Do the benefits really outweigh the extra effort? My answer might surprise you.

When you change your physical location, the energy of that new environment can deeply affect your wellbeing. This is especially true when you travel.

When I change environments I often feel it in subtle (and sometimes not so subtle) ways. If you’re anything like me, you’ll want to be prepared for these shifts. It’s so important to adapt to the energy of your new surroundings.

That’s why I’m sharing my top five non-negotiables when it comes to travel. These items support me whole-istically, meaning my mind, body, heart, and soul are covered. Here’s how they can support you too.

  1. Crystals

I never leave home without these small yet mighty beings. The best way to travel with them is in the form of jewelry. That way you can switch it up depending on where you’re going and what you’ll need them for—work trip, family vacation, spiritual journey—you name it. While there are many to choose from, here are my three faves.

    • Amethyst—a powerful crystal to protect yourself inside and out. It also enhances your intuition and psychic abilities.

    • Clear Quartz—balances your chakras, providing clarity around any new experience coming your way. It also helps you recharge after a long day of travel.

    • Lemurian Quartz—activates new ideas, stores memories of all the places you’ve been to as well as the new ones you visit. It’s also an excellent crystal for connecting with your guides as they’ll provide invaluable assistance and support throughout your travels.

  2. EMF protection

Once you notice the profound impact wifi, mobile devices, and satellites have on you, you really can't un-see or un-feel it. Every device in our home has a protected chip on it that blocks EMF rays. I have a Qi Blanco plug in chip at home that protects my family and me from the harmful effects. When I travel, I bring one from Aires Tech that covers a six-foot radius around me. This protects my kids and myself most of the time.

  3. Supplements

I bring all my supplements on vacation with me! I need additional support, especially as a breastfeeding mama. I eat a mostly plant-based diet so not every destination has a lot of food options for me. Anything I’m taking at home, I bring with me. You can also bring one of the eight ‘complete foods’ with you as backup. My favourite is spirulina because it tastes pretty great and can be easily mixed into smoothies or sprinkled into a soup or bowl.

  4. Homeopathic first-aid kit

Since having kids, I started travelling with a homeopathic first aid kit. It covers anything from bruises, bug bites to full blown influenza. Being such energetically-sensitive little beings, children often get ill on vacation. I use Bioron’s line and love it!

  5. Lymphatic drainage kit

Lymphatic draining is an underrated way of moving toxins out of the body. If you feel like you need an energetic detox while travelling, this is a great way to do it. It works directly with the lymphatic system which is a filtration system for your body and your energy. That includes filtering anything we pick up from others or anything we release ourselves. This amazing practice has supported me in the most unbelievable ways. It keeps any illness at bay and keeps me charged up!! I love and use De La Heart’s kit

Maintain a practice of self-care wherever you go.

At the end of the day, this list is dynamic and can be tailored to best suit your travel needs. Use it as a stepping stone to cultivate a practice of self-care whenever you go on the road. If you feel called to carry a different crystal or create a homeopathic first-aid kit designed for solo travel, listen to your intuition. As an extra bonus, I like to carry a journal wherever I go as it’s a great tool to document memories, meditate, and share gratitude.
